Membership Development & Retention

By now, all of our Rotary Clubs should have returned their Semi-Annual Report (SAR).  Shortly, we will have an update on our membership from Rotary International.  Do you have a feel for where your Clubs stand in their membership development & retention efforts and goals?

What are we doing in the Zone 28 Districts to promote membership development & retention?
I would appreciate it you would share the SUCCESS STORIES and BEST PRACTICES of those Clubs in your District who are increasing their membership through BIGGER BETTER BOLDER ideas and initiatives.

IDEAS THAT WILL BE OF INTEREST TO OTHERS MIGHT INCLUDE:
* Changing the time or day of your meeting has increased our membership
* We have made "meals" optional for our members, thereby reducing the cost
   of membership
* New Generations Clubs
* Clubs that are alternating activities of their weekly meetings:
Week 1 - Business Meeting with Speaker
   Week 2 - Community Service
Week 3 - Business Meeting with Speaker
   Week 4 - Social
* Effective Public Image campaign that has increased active members
* New Signature Project that has increased the awareness of our Club in our
   community
* We are sponsoring a Community-based Rotaract Club in our community
* We are sponsoring an Interact Club in our community High School
* Other success stories or best practices

PLEASE SHARE SO WE CAN ALL BENEFIT FROM OUR CLUB'S GREAT IDEAS.

Thank you.

Welcome to the RI Zone 28 Rotary Coordinator Blog

Thank you for visiting the newest adventure in our 2010-2011 Rotary "Building Communities-Bridging Communities" year.

When we were all together at the Zones 28-29 Leadership Training and Institute in Rochester this past October, I promised you I would begin to post ideas, questions, thoughts, etc. that would be helpful to you, our District leaders.  The goal is to help all of us in the development of a BIGGER BETTER BOLDER Rotary as we assist in building stronger Clubs and Districts.

So, let's get started and see where this takes us.

In just a few short weeks, our Zone 28 District Governors-elect will head to San Diego, joining their 515+ fellow DGE for the 2011 International Assembly.  We wish you all the best as you set out on the journey of a lifetime.  Let's share our best wishes for all of our DGE to have a safe and fun-filled journey.

Once I get this going, I will begin to post more questions for your review and comments.

Have a nice evening.
